Starting a Side Hustle

Side Hustles are all the rage right now, so many people have found it beneficial to have a little money coming in on the side. Using a side hustle is a great way to bring in some extra money to either pay down debt, save for a down payment or both!

Where to start may be the biggest question. Some great advice would be to find out what you're good at. Consider what other people ask you for help with. If you have friends always asking you how you keep your garden so nice or your kitchen so organized, go with that!

Use your strengths to your advantage! It may be difficult for you to figure out what your strengths are or even how to use them to make money, so this is your time to research, google will be your biggest helper for this task. See what other people are doing and what's working for them.

Here are some simple idea's that you can start now!

1. Offer Services through Facebook Market Place or Kijiji
If you have a vehicle you could do deliveries, pick ups, runs to the dump for money.A lawn mower and weed whacker (or whatever you call it) offer lawn cutting, pulling weeds, or gardening.

2.Sell the things You don't need through Facebook Market Place or Kijiji
Have a basement or attic full of items you don't need? Sell them online, you'll get more for your items selling them online than you will hosting a garage sale.
If you have rare items or collectables try using Ebay or another selling website, there's potential to make even more money than local buy and sells.
Check out Value Village or other Thrift Stores for some hidden gems to sell online.

3. Get on the Web
You may have heard that you can get paid to do surveys online, well, it's true.
Checkout freelance websites like Fiver, see what others are offering and if you have similar skills to share.

4. Ask friends and family if they need a hand with tasks
Older relatives or friends may benefit from some extra help around the house, rides to appointments or stores. Someone you know might need a babysitter, house sitter, dog walker or just someone to give them a hand!

5. Create and Sell
Selling unique hand made items is a great way to make some money, it may cost you a bit to get started but the dollar store and Walmart have great items for low cost. Check out local stores to see if they'll sell your items for you!
If you know how to use anything like Adobe programs or Pro-Create or even the free version of Canva, you can make all sorts of designs and sell digital versions through Etsy or anywhere online
